One of the key indicators of the health of an organization like UV MEND is the ability to attract quality talent to the board and staff. This year I am particularly reminded of this because, in July, I will complete my two terms (six years) of service on the UV MEND Board and, per the by‐laws, I will leave the Board for at least a year. As I prepare to step away, I could not be more excited about individuals that will guide this great organization which YOU, the people of the Upper Valley, have built and supported for over twenty five years.

The Upper Valley MEND Board and Staff are heartbroken over the loss of Don Hanson. He brought vision, compassion, and leadership to our organization, and he was a light to those around him.

MEND begins its 25th year of service to the Upper Wenatchee Valley this year. A great milestone, which we will be celebrating throughout the year. The story of MEND is the story of the generosity in time and treasure of all of you. You truly transform lives and make the Upper Valley a better community.
