Affordable Housing

Addressing the pressing issue of affordable housing, Upper Valley MEND established an affordable homeownership program in 2001, which has 22 homes in three neighborhoods. Since then, we have expanded our affordable housing program by acquiring 31 rental apartments within the Leavenworth city limits, and adding two new homeownership homes.

In 2026, MEND will work with a local developer to add 3 new homeownership homes to the portfolio.

Affordable Homeownership

Low- and moderate-income individuals and families who live or work in the Upper Wenatchee Valley have access to affordable home ownership through MEND. The 22 homes in our program provide stable, quality homes for local families for less than half the price they would pay on the open market.

Affordable Rentals

Our rental housing program provides affordable rentals for low- and moderate-income individuals in the Upper Valley. Find out more about this program and how to apply for the applicant pool for future vacancies.

Solid Foundations

Our community stepped up to preserve 31 workforce rentals and build two new homeownership homes in Leavenworth in 2024. This is just the start of the next chapter for housing in our area.
