Planned gifts make a big difference

Acting on their faith

“We appreciate what Leavenworth has done for us and we wanted to give back to the Leavenworth community, especially those in need. God created us all equally. Some of us have been more blessed with money. It is His money, and He calls on us to take care of those in need.”

— Linda and Paul Jinneman

Paul and Linda Jinneman, co-owners of the Icicle Inn in Leavenworth, decided they wanted to be able to continue helping those in need into the future and chose to leave a gift to Upper Valley MEND in their will. Paul said it was straightforward to do and allowed them to act on their belief that we are called upon to take care of those in need.

Peshastin resident Ron Spanjer left gifts in his will to care for his friends and favorite non-profits into the future. In a thoughtful act of generosity, Spanjer left $26,461 to the Community Cupboard. His gift fed hundreds of individuals and families in the Upper Valley struggling to make ends meet.

A gift of kindness

“He was a very caring person, and he wanted to acknowledge and recognize the people and things that were important to him. Ron was all about what we can give to others to help them further their lives.”

— Jean Dennis, friend
