Amy Maher

Amy Maher and her husband Bob and dog Linus moved to Leavenworth in 2021. They have spent every free minute in Leavenworth since Amy’s grandparents moved here almost 20 years ago. Their kids learned to ski at Leavenworth Ski Hill and her son is an avid boulder climber here. As empty nesters, they decided to relocate to Leavenworth full time from Kirkland, WA where they both worked at Microsoft. Amy worked as a recruiter and human resources generalist but left Microsoft when the kids were born and pursued an active volunteer schedule in the fields of domestic violence prevention and school PTSA leadership. She loved recruiting and organizing volunteers, raising money for meaningful causes, and expanding the high school theater arts booster program. Amy initiated Pantry Packs for the local elementary school which helped provide weekend food packs for students experiencing food insecurity. She has been actively developing donors for Water Access Now, a non-profit that her husband Bob co-founded to fund freshwater boreholes in the northern region of Ghana in Africa. Amy is excited to engage with Upper Valley MEND and the important initiatives they are focused on in the community.
