At the Upper Valley Free Clinic, people facing dental or medical issues can access free care. The clinic is a weekly free walk-in health clinic that meets the needs of uninsured and underinsured people in the Upper Wenatchee Valley.
The Free Clinic is staffed by volunteer providers, nurses, receptionists, and translators from the local medical center. The space and supplies are donated by Cascade Medical Center in Leavenworth.

The Upper Valley Free Health Clinic provides healthcare for medical conditions such as upper respiratory infections, ear infections, rashes, injuries, fever, back pain, urinary tract infections, headaches, tetanus and flu immunizations, and more.
Financial assistance is available for medications, x-rays and ultrasounds for those who cannot afford them. We also help access financial assistance or insurance for the management of chronic diseases like high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease, or other conditions that require ongoing care.
The Free Clinic is located adjacent to Cascade Medical’s 24-hour emergency department for more urgent concerns.

Dr. Kranz earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Washington and his medical doctorate while attending the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific in California. He completed his residency in family medicine in Portland, Oregon and has been with Cascade Medical Center since 1993. While Dr. Kranz has officially retired his practice, he donates his time and expertise during the weekly Free Clinic that Upper Valley MEND holds in partnership with Cascade Medical Center.
The Free Clinic treated 265 patients in 2025.
The Upper Valley Free Clinic is excited to announce a new partnership with Registered Nurse Rebecca Talbot-Bluechel, who will be offering a free foot clinic once a month in Leavenworth. Rebecca has worked for 10 years in public health in the Seattle area, providing foot care and education to underserved communities, including seniors and people who are unhoused, uninsured or underinsured.
Foot health is often overlooked, yet for people who are on their feet all day or managing conditions like diabetes, access to basic foot care can be life-changing.

Educate and suggestions for plantar warts and corns
Homecare options for ingrown toenails
Help with cracked heels and flaky skin
Recommend therapy or appliances for plantar fasciitis, hammertoes, crossed toes and bunions.
Reduce calluses
Trim toenails and manage cuticles
Help with toenail fungus management
Rebecca is not able to:
Make the pain go away
Prescribe pharmaceuticals for toenail fungus
Provide referrals who accept your insurance (although this may be available in the future)
