Liz Hurtado,
Social Worker

Our emergency assistance program offers critical support, including rent and mortgage assistance, transportation aid, utility bill relief, and temporary housing solutions.

We complement this assistance with case management and referrals to ensure comprehensive support for individuals and families in need.

Our social worker, Liz Hurtado, grew up in the Upper Valley and has a background in mental health and social service. She holds an undergraduate degree in Sociology from the University of Washington and a master's in social work from Western New Mexico University. She is bilingual and able to provide emergency assistance to members of the community in both English and Spanish.

"We have been able to keep our house in Leavenworth with rental help. The emergency assistance program has helped pay for our electric so it would not be shut off. Community Cupboard has helped with food and Christmas presents for my kids and school supplies. Without all of that help, we would have been in a really bad way. Thanks to all."
