Thanks to tremendous community support the 20 homes in Aldea Village and Alpine Heights will be kept affordable for generations to come. While homeowners purchase their homes, ongoing maintenance and stewardship of the land continues to require community support for success. So, how can you help?
Volunteer your time: Volunteering for SHARE Community Land Trust allows you to put your skills to work for affordable housing.
- Join the SHARE CLT committee: The SHARE committee develops and oversees policy for the communities, and we are looking for volunteers with experience in law, land use, policy, planning and real estate. If this is you, please contact Kaylin@uvmend.org. The SHARE Committee meets once per month.
- Volunteer for neighborhood projects: To ensure the continued upkeep and fire defensibility of neighborhood common space, work parties often help with community projects. Interested in helping remove brush and trees that could be fire hazards near Alpine Heights? Or helping paint house exteriors at Aldea Village? We'd love to have you! For upcoming work parties, email Kaylin@uvmend.org.
Donate: By donating to SHARE CLT stewardship, you are ensuring that low and moderate income homeowners have assistance throughout their homeownership process. Between working with a mortgage lender to purchase their home, learning about home maintenance and upkeep, working through conflicts with neighbors, and finally reselling their home, stewardship of CLT homes is an important component of the affordable homeownership program. If you would like to support sustainable, permanent affordable homeownership, click here to donate.
